What am I doing?

That is the question isn’t it? Well I have not written up anything about jingju because frankly I haven’t read anything more about jingju. Why? Well because I started at Kate Spade. Hooray. I love it, and well it should be kate spade. They don’t use capital letters. The people are really nice and the discount is even nicer. šŸ˜‰ I am really enjoying it. However, it has been a lot to take in so studying has fallen to the side while I get situated. I have tons of purses lines and names to remember, alarm codes, property names, client names,Ā realtorĀ names, co-workers names, salesperson numbers, clothing line names, to stuff in my head first. Two jobs! Whoo! Most of that is all in there. However, I still need to memorize some purse lines and names. That’ll come though. I just need to spend some time with them is all.

So long story short, life is good. Just full of new information. So jingju soon, purses now.

The New Phase

Aloha all. I have been gone for a bit from this blog. Sorry about that. I’ve just been settling back in to Hawai’i life and you know… finding work. Luckily I did find work. Hooray. I found two jobs actually. Job One is at Ohana Beach Rentals Hawaii as a receptionist. I really like it there, er… here I guess since I am sitting at my desk right now. I really like it here. The people are super nice and the work isn’t too hard. Answering phones can sometimes be very stressful but I like it most of the time. People are generally nice when they are planning a vacation to Hawai’i. It puts them in a good mood. The people are what make this job really nice. They are fantastic. They are all a nice mix of business and fun/happy going. Makes work a lot easier when your co-workers are a blast andĀ responsible. I only work Tuesday/Thursday at this job. It makes me kind of sad that I don’t get to see these awesome folks every day but it is nice that I get to break my work week up with something different. It keeps me from getting bored sitting at a desk all day. While I have answered about 20 phone calls, labeled files, and emailed messages already today there is a bit of downtime when you are sitting at a desk. As I’m sure any of you who have worked desk jobs know. So what is a girl to do to break up the monotony and get a little more cash coming in? You get Job Two! Yes that is right. On my semester off I not only have one 16 hour a week job I also tacked on a 19 hour a week job to that as well. Crazy? Ya, Crazy like a fox. I cannot get work done if I’m not busy. I have to have a frantic schedule to get anything done. Did I do any reading on my many days off between Indonesia and starting work? Nope. Have I read half of a giant book about jingju since I started working? Yes, yes I have. So two jobs it is! Job Two is at Kate Spade. Yes. The Kate Spade. The awesome, totally stylish Kate Spade. I have obsessed over Kate Spade purses for years. Could I ever afford one? No. Can I now? Not really. However, with my new super discount the odds of me owning one of these fabulous purses increase quite a bit. Huzzah! Also the manager and the girls who work there just seem super nice so I’m hoping it’ll also be a fun work environment. We shall find out Friday. Insert dramatic music here.

So what does that mean for my lovely Christmas Tree in Asia blog? I’m not in Asia anymore… for now… so what to do? This blog is, for the time being, going to take on the roll of my own personal ramblings site as well as a place for me to record all the information I have been reading about for my comprehensive exams. So you know that giantĀ jingju book I mentioned earlier? Hope you likeĀ jingju because I am going to be summarizing the book and all the information I have gathered from it on this lovely blog. I will also be doing the same with post-modern feminism in the theatre, bunraku, wayang kulit,Ā Southeast Asian puppetry as a whole, and some other fun theatre topics.

So get ready for some learnin’, my family and friends.

Hugs and Love,

Kristina
